Poweromics ... struggling to hold on

Following my recent post, the call for a secret confidence vote within the Labour party, and the resignation of James Parnell (Work and Pensions secretary) last night (take a look at his letter here) ...

... the 'captain' is trying to hold on to 'power' today, by applying more Poweromics and hoping to use more 'spin' and 'celebrity' too ...

... as the 'leader' of the 'Gentlemen's club', when will he 'lead', behave like a 'Gentlemen', take responsibility, stop applying Poweromics and do the 'honorable' thing? ...

Take a look at my post on Nick Robinson's blogs (1,2) below:

IMHO, the most important point was not made by James Parnell's resignation, but Senior Labour backbencher Barry Sheerman, who said there should be a ballot of Labour MPs to see if Gordon Brown still has the confidence of his party.

Barry also said "This goes far beyond just a few people, this is a large number of us who are really unhappy about the present situation."

Those who apply Poweromics* often use 'threats' to create 'fear' in those who try to question them, and Gordon, and his close aides at number 10 (e.g. remember Damian McBride ...), must be really pulling out the stops now !

We do not even have a 19th Century democracy at the moment .. even secret ballots of confidence in the leader cannot be done even his party ! ... and those who utter any concern are immediately 'punished'. Democracy - what democracy? ... it's a farce and we need to be given 21st democracy*, starting with a general election !

Gordon Brown - moral, ethical, someone you can trust ... this is rapidly becoming the biggest 'joke' ever ... except it's not a joke (not for us anyway)!

The rumour is Gordon is looking to rely even more on 'celebrity' and 'spin' now - the sign of a man desperate for votes, and someone devoid of values and ideas (remember Charles Clarke's previous comments on this subject) ... we should never forget him - and never forgive him ... as it is he who continues to bring the UK to it's knees ...

He may have 'faith' ... but few have 'faith' in him.

Poweromics* at work again - by GB, and by them. Backbenchers and voters don't matter ... just them, their egos, their pensions, their peerages and their jobs ... what were those "Seven Principles of Public Life" again?

Oh yes ... Selflessness, Integrity, Leadership, Honesty, Openness, Objectivity, Accountability ...

Oh dear, and when are we going to have 'codes' instead of 'principles"' ... after their long holiday (perhaps) ... oh dear ?!?!

A 'joke' maybe - except it's not a laughing matter ... Let's see some of them now - so the public can see which, if any, MP's are capable of applying them ...
